what is the blade material of geber mini converter?
Q. confused... some say 154cm some say 440a or HC SS.. the bigger fairbairn converter is mad eof 154cm ,what about the mini one?
Asked by pku043 - Fri Jan 19 19:10:59 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. 154cm, 440, and AUS 8 stainless are pretty well interchangeable except to the chemical analyst. All three are high-grade stainless steel with Rockwell hardness in the high 50's (usually somewhere between 56-59). They hold their edge well, but are harder to sharpen than lesser-grade steels. The reason I say that they are pretty well interchangeable is that Benchmade stopped using 154cm in their knives because it is an imported steel. Their knives now sport 440 stainless. With Benchmade's quality, there is no way that they settled for a down-grade in steel. So it really doesn't matter what the covert blade material is as long as it is one of the three.

How come people say things like Islam is non civilized..?
Q. Where as actually it was Islam that brought so many advances in the world of science, art and knowledge of all types truely beneficial to the world. The European Renaissance came much later.. and was an inheritance from Islamic Empires. Statements like "Muslims are non-civilized" do not show anything but the lack of knowledge on the part of the people making such statements. The wikipedia states about The European Renaissance: The works of ancient Greek and Hellenistic writers (such as Plato, Aristotle, Euclid, Ptolemy, and Plotinus) and Muslim scientists and philosophers (such as Geber, Abulcasis, Alhacen, Avicenna, Avempace, and Averroes), were imported into the Christian world, providing new intellectual material for European… [cont.]

A. Perhaps the beheading are seen as uncivilized? There were many people in recent years beheaded in the Middle East...which is not seen as civilized. Hope that helps!
